When you hear the brand name ZTE you don’t typically think of high-end smartphones, hence the reason they are looking to change things around. Lixin Cheng, ZTE North American President, says that they don’t want to lock themselves into the market of affordable smartphones, despite the fact it has paid off for the company thus far.
Cheng believes strongly in North American sales and says that by 2015, he thinks that it will be the largest source of revenue for the Chinese company. While Cheng didn’t specify any device or specs, I think it’s safe to say that we can expect the latest processors and higher resolution screens and most likely LTE, as Cheng said it was a priority.
We should see some of these new devices rolling out sometime in mid to late 2012.
