Yahoo’s VP of Infrastructure leaves for Apple

It seems like the arrival of Melissa Mayer at Yahoo hasn’t been as well received some may have though. Since the former Google employee took the reigns at the struggling search company, we’ve seen two key employees leave, interm CEO Ross Levinsohn and Mark Grabowski for was the VP for North American sales. Now we have a third key executive, VP of Infrastructure, Adam Bechtel, who has decide to leave Yahoo for an unspecified position at Apple.

The story broke over at AllThingsD, by Kara Swisher, who asked an unnamed Yahoo employee, why would so many people decide to leave Yahoo now, to which the employee said, “A lot of us just can’t take another restructuring.” This is understandable when you look back Yahoo’s year and the amount of leadership changes, each with their own ideas on how to improve things, sometimes certain ideas don’t mesh well with the existing workforce.

Bechtel’s departure to Apple isn’t something new for Yahoo, they also lost another employee to Apple late last year, Scott Notebottom, who was Yahoo data center chief. Notebottom joined Apple to help strengthen their iCloud service.
