WWDC: Apple unveils the next-generation MacBook Pro with a 2880×1800 Retina display

Apple has just blown the doors off their WWDC with the announcement of the “next-generation” MacBook Pro, which is only .71-inches thick and features an industry leading 2880 x 1800 resolution in a 15.4-inch display. The new MacBook Pro is also the lightest MBP that Apple’s launched.

Because of the new display, Apple has updated their apps to work on the new laptop like, Mail, iPhoto, Safari, but Apple has also updated their professional apps as well, like Apeture, Final Cut Pro. Even 3rd party apps have been updated, like Autodesk and even Blizzard’s new Diablo 3.

Inside, the new MBP will use a massive battery for up to 7 hours of battery use or 30 days of standby time, but the most important part is the 2.7GHz quad-core or the turbo boosted 3.7GHz quad-core Intel Ivy Bridge processor. Next generation NVIDIA Keplar graphics, GeForce GT650M graphics card, up to 16GB of RAM, a massive 768 SSD (Solid-State-Drive) Flash Drive. Despite its thin design, the new MBP will still have USB 2/3, and SD Card slot, HDMI out, 2x Thunderbolt ports, a headphone jack and a magsafe 2 battery port. It’ll also have 802.11 B/G/N Wifi and BlueTooth 4.0, for lower battery usage.

Like the original MBP line, the next-generation model will feature the Facetime HD camera (720p), in all the new computer will start at $2,199 and it starts shipping today!
