After the E.U. approved the Google/Motorola acquisition this morning, I was thinking it would only be a matter of days before the U.S. Department of Justice got around to finalizing their decision. In the end, it was only a matter of hours. The DOJ dropped the news that it has given its blessing over the purposed buyout. Even with this DOJ’s and EU’s approval though, Google and Motorola still have to wait for the approval of the Israeil, Taiwanese and Chinese, before everything is complete.
In related news, the DOJ also approved the joint purchase of Nortel patent by Apple, Google, Microsoft and RIM (and a few others).
