Tonight at D10 or DX, Apple CEO Tim Cook sat down with AllThingsD writers Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. When presented with a question about Facebook and the status Apple’s relationship with the social media network, Cook said that they “could do more together and to stay tuned.” Cook was pressured again on Facebook, but all that he would give up was again, “stay tuned.”
So what does this mean? Well, if you remember, back in January an image surfaced, showing Facebook integrated into the address book within iOS. This was prior to the release of iOS 5.1, which many believe would contain this new functionality, but sadly, it did not.
With Apple’s WWDC (World-Wide Developers Conference) happening on June 11th, it is possible that we could actually see the integration that we were teased with back in January, finally become a reality. Finally, we’d be able to share photos, taken with the stock camera app, directly into Facebook.
Of course, we could be wrong, but I think with Cook’s comments, we’re dead on. What do you all think? Will Facebook finally be integrated in to the root of iOS like Twitter?
