Just when you thought things for RIM couldn’t get any worse, The New York Times, perhaps the most widely read news source in the world has decide to pull its mobile app from BlackBerry’s App World. The NYT’s says that they have decided to place their efforts in areas where they are seeing results, right now, BlackBerry usage is way down and so it was a business decision. The Times have released this statement to those BlackBerry owners who are still looking for their fix.

As of July 23, 2012, The New York Times stopped supporting the NYTimes app for BlackBerry or the DealBook BlackBerry Reader. NYTimes.com content will still be available on your device through our mobile site.

The NYT’s briefly mentioned BlackBerry 10 and said that while they’ve decided to pull the plug on the current version of BlackBerry (i.e. 7), they’ll evaluate RIM’s BlackBerry 10 OS when it launches next year to see if there is a reason and benefit to making a new app.

In other words, this is just another nail in the coffin.
