It looks like T-Mobile, home of the Lumia 710, is about to step it up a notch. The magenta carrier is looking to “re-brand” itself to let customers know they are a viable option when it comes cellular service in the U.S. They may not have the iPhone, Luma 900 or a massive exclusive, but they have Carly Foulkes, the T-Mobile Girl.
Foulkes has been the face of T-Mobile since replacing Catherine Zeta-Jones and until now, has always been seen in a white or pink dress with polka dots of the opposite color. That’s all about to change, as T-Mobile has created some new ad spots that show Carly, “ditching the dress” and hoping on a black and magenta Ducati and speeding off with the tagline, “No more Mr. Nice Girl.”
Speaking with AllThingsD, T-Mobile Senior VP, Peter DeLuca, says they hope these ads make customers “take a second look” at the nations 4th largest carrier, while at the same time, promoting their upcoming HTC device, the One S. Since they don’t have a 4G LTE network or the iPhone, T-Mobile is going to rely on an edgy approach to get customers to come back, using these new commercial spots, low-price plans and a variety of new Windows and Android powered phones.
What do you all think? Do you like the new “look” for Carly?
