If you’re like the millions of people who are addicted to their smartphones, you know feeling, like having to check your email and Facebook whenever you hear a chime or having to squeeze in a game whenever you’re bored. Then you know a thing or two about poor battery life. But according to Kevin Packingham, a VP of Product Innovation at Samsung, this year Samsung is promising to deliver phones with improved longevity.
The goal is to provide a battery that can last all day with low to moderately heavy use. Which as it stands right now, is no easy task, manufacturers are adding bigger, brighter screens, 4G LTE, faster processors and game are becoming more graphical intense.
Samsung will begin to test different methods to achieve better battery life, like better connectivity within its devices, they’ll also use bigger batteries. The real question is, is this something that Samsung can fix with bigger batteries and slight tweaks to an OS or is this something that Google would have to fix within Android?
