At IFA in Berlin today, Samsung took the wraps off their first Windows Phone 8 device, now called the ATIV S (a rebranding of Focus) and like our sister site WP-Life exclusively reported a few months back, the new device takes its design cues and specs straight from the Galaxy S III.
With the exception of only 1GB—as opposed to 2GB—the ATIV S shares the same 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display covered by Cornings Gorilla Glass 2, a 1.9-megapixel front camera and a 8-megapixel rear camera as the Galaxy S III.
The ATIV S, thanks to the improvements in Windows Phone 8, features expandable memory via an SD card slot. With Windows Phone 8 being released on October 29, we shouldn’t have much longer to wait for this beast of a Windows Phone, anyone excited?
