It’s been a while since we sourced a story back to Gizmodo and I think I remember why, they think the photo above is a “real” functioning iPad Mini. That is not the case however, the front image, clearly shows a very pixelated display, especially on the bottom, almost as if the image is a print out that was stuck inside. While it was cut off in the image above, below you’ll see the dock for the new Lightening connector is plugged up, as in, it’s not a real functional port.
While I don’t doubt that this is what the final iPad Mini will look like, proclaiming it’s a functioning unit is another beast altogether. Assuming that the iPad Mini isn’t still some mystical unicorn and this thing really is made from the real iPad Mini’s parts, it’s safe to assume we’ll be seeing it very shortly, say in a month or so.
