We’ve been reporting on Google’s cloud based storage service, Google Drive, for what feels like months now. It was original rumored for an early April release, but we now a report from TheNextWeb, that the release may now come next week, making it more of a late April release.

The TNW report also says the service will be “folder” based. Meaning, that you’ll have folders placed directly on your desktop, be it Mac or Windows, that you’ll be able to add/withdraw items from which will then sync with Google’s Drive service. TNW also collaborate the rumor that we’ll see 5GB of free storage when users sign up, but additional storage will cost more. No pricing for additional plans were mentioned.

We’ll have to wait until next week to see if this happens, or if it will just pass us by once again.
