If rumors are true, Amazon may be unveiling more than just a new Kindle Fire and improved e-reader with a BrightWhite display technology tomorrow. Multiple sources have have confirmed with the Verge that Amazon is prepping a smartphone that may be in an unfinished state, but the online retailer will be showing it off nonetheless. The device—like the Kindle Fire—is presumed to run a “forked” version of Android, but unlike the Kindle Fire, which is running Gingerbread, this version may be running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “forked,” it means that while it’s running Android, it won’t be using any of Google’s apps like Gmail, Search and Maps. Instead, it’s rumored that Amazon will be using Nokia’s Map application.

That’s about all that has been leaked so far, if we hear more, we’ll be sure to let you now. In the meantime, who’s excited for an Amazon based smartphone? What would you pay for one, if this rumor does indeed turn out to be true?
