Like Nokia and Samsung, HTC is preparing a few Windows Phone 8 devices for release later this year, we’ve already heard the rumored project names of the Rio and Zenith, but the image above is supposedly the latest WP8 device from HTC, the Accord. According to The Verge, while the image of the Accord appears to be running, Windows Phone 7, this device is definitely scheduled to be a WP8 phone.
One thing that definitely stands out about the Accord is the bright purple casing, it looks like HTC may be taking a page out of Nokia’s book and making their Windows Phone device’s with bright, brilliant colors, perhaps to draw attention to them.
In terms of specs, the Accord seems pretty powerful, the source who leaked this image—Football from the XDA forums—says that the device will features a 4.3-inch 720p Super LCD 2 display (the same type of display found in the One X, but smaller, which means a higher pixel count), an 8-megapixel camera, NFC, microSD card support and it will all be powered by the 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, the same powerhouse that runs the Samsung Galaxy S III. If you’ve ever used a Windows Phone device, you’d know how smooth it runs, especially on a single core processor, one can only imagine how amazingly smooth it should run with the power of a Snapdragon S4.
We don’t have a date or price for the Accord, but with Windows Phone scheduled to debut at the end of October, we shouldn’t have long to wait before HTC makes it official.
