As if more proof is needed, I called Sprint tonight to see about adding my parents to my plan. My father wants the Evo shift and so I asked the customer service rep and she said the device is scheduled for release on the 9th January. She also stated the price is 149.99 after a 100.00 mail in rebate. The rebate is not surprising as Sprint also had a 100.00 rebate on the EVO 4G, yet stores like Best Buy and Radio Shack sold it for 199.99 without a rebate so I’d expect them to the same for the Shift. Either way it’s nice to...

So CNN released their top 10 gadgets of 2010. Without a shock, devices like the iPhone 4, HTC EVO 4G, Galaxy Tab and iPad all made the list including some surprises like the ELegs and Windows Phone 7 OS. I have to say I was surpassed and happy to see the EVO 4G (not just Android) beat the iPhone 4. As I have said a million times I love my EVO. To see the list check out the link below. http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/gaming.gadgets/12/31/ten.gadgets.wired/index.html Enjoy and Happy New Year! ...

Skype has announced today, via their blog, that they’ve released Skype 3.0 for the iOS. The new update will add some new features but most notably is the new “Video” calling. The new feature will allow owners of iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch (4th Gen.) to use the video calling feature over Wi-Fi and 3G. iPad and iPod Touch (3rd Gen) can receive video. Below is the Skype statement: Skype video calling is supported over WiFi and 3G* data connections. You can enjoy video calls with users on all Skype desktop versions and...

So despite Kaufman Brothers Analyst, Shaw Wu, who claimed the Playbook was going to suffer a delay in its release, RIM, has stated that any Playbook that has been used or tested outside of RIM would have been a pre-beta unit.  RIM claims these units do not have the power management implemented and there for this rumor should not be taken seriously. Below is a statement from RIM: Any testing or observation of battery life to date by anyone outside of RIM would have been performed using pre-beta units that were built without power management...

Well besides the “Thunderbolt” the EVO Shift 4G has to be one of the worst kept secrets in the cell phone industry this year. The previously code named “Speedy” and “Knight” finally has shown up not once but twice confirming the name “EVO SHIFT 4G.” Just a few days ago we saw reports and an image that showed the device in Best Buy’s internal system and a price of 149.99 (with a 2-year contract). While some people said that this should be taken with a grain of salt, yesterday The Shack (aka Radio Shack) released a flyer...

According to the website “Samsung Hub”, good Ol’ Sammy is planning to announce its competitor to the iPod touch. The device looks to be a true competitor too. The Player, basically a Galaxy S without the phone connectivity, will be running Android 2.2, and feature a 1GHz CPU, a 4″ LCD (800×400) touch screen, T-DMB, SoundAlive audio enhancing technology, wi-fi, Bluetooth 3.0, front and rear-facing cameras, GPS, HD playback, microSD card slot, the Android Market and a 1200mAh removable battery all while being...

So we are about 11 days from CES and big things are expected from all the major players. We know that Verizon’s CEO Ivan Seidenberg will be delivering the keynote speech this year and will no doubt be talking up his company’s next major venture, LTE. While the world awaits and expects for the announcement of the “Verizon iPhone” I don’t think we will be seeing it happen at CES. This is the type of news that Steve Jobs would prefer he deliver himself, so expect that announcement at Apple’s conference...

Did you receive some extra money from those long lost Aunt and Uncle’s? Don’t know how to spend it? Well maybe you’d like to pick up an iPhone 4 for less than a hundred bucks. AT&T has just dropped their refurbished iPhone 4′s down o $99 dollars for a 16GB version(with a new 2-year contract). Want one even cheaper?? Man, you are greedy…well...

So according to the guys over at Phandroid the very popular iOS app, instagram, is coming to the Android OS. This is exciting news for those guys as they just book a million users already. As Phandroid points out it took months for foursquare to hit that number and even a year for giants like twitter. I can say after playing with instagram on my wifes iPhone 4, I’m jealous it’s not on my EVO. The app takes nice photos and the filters and options are nice, not to mention the posting right to twitter. So android users are you...

I thought I would take the chance to say Happy Holidays to you all while I’m 35,000 feet in the air using Delta’s wifi (free thanks to Google) on my iPad. This is the first real time I’ve really used the iPad on trip in the air. I have to say the wifi so far has been great. I recommend Delta for flying, even with the $25 per bag charge. Anyway, we’ve got some big changes coming from Tech Hog in the coming weeks, including: a new version of the site, aka version 3.0, a new shirt design for both Apple and Android...
