If you’ve purchased a Nexus 7 from Google and have been searching relentlessly for a case or cover—like me—I’ve got some good news. The official cover from Google is now available for purchase on the Google Play Store for $19.99. Google’s official cover is made of a dark gray rubber, the back of which replicates the back of the Nexus 7 itself, with the dimpled texture and Nexus and ASUS brand names. The cover also features a front flap that covers the screen, sort of like a book.
Since eBay is sort of a hit or miss with cases, with many of them looking bulky and cheap or cases that were made for other 7-inch tablets, which are being passed off as a Nexus case, this Google case looks to be the best bang for your buck. There is one word of caution, shipping on the case is an additional $9.99 ( for 2 day delivery) so you’ll need to tack that onto the price. When all is said and done (including tax) the final price comes to $31.18. Personally, I like the look of the official case, I like that it represents the brand names and resembles the actual look of the Nexus 7, instead of some fat pleather looking case with a cheap magnetic clip.
With the Nexus 7 selling out in most retail locations, as well as online, you may want to place your order before the covers are sold out too.
