I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I figure if The Verge can cover it, what the hell. Another “trusted” source from the good Ol’ boys of BGR.com has told them that they expect the upcoming Lumia 900 from Nokia to retail for only $99.99 when it hits AT&T in March.
We do know that Nokia wants to get back into the American market in a big way and that they have said on numerous occasions they they plan to price their Lumia devices aggressively, but $99? I see two scenarios that could play out here, one, the phone will sell well to average, due to the lower cost (but it still has to deal with the fact that many customers haven’t fully warmed up to Windows Phone yet) or two, the phone, while gorgeous looking, will come off as “to cheap” and have consumers second guessing when they see this high-end looking phone, that only sells for $99 brand new.
One thing is certain, if the Lumia 900 sells for only $99 bucks, T-Mobiles Lumia 710 is dead in the water.
