It’s only fair with all the speculation that the iPhone has been getting in terms of its appearance that we finally get some dirt on the next Nexus. Well, here you go! GSM Arena got a tip from an anonymous person with some juicy details, most of which you’ll all love, with one bit of sad news. First off the good, the device is supposed to be around 8.8mm thick with a curved 4.65″ display (much like the Nexus S) and it will be sporting a metal chassis (finally). The launch date for the next Nexus is rumored to be late October which will combat the iPhone 5 as rumored and when Eric Schmidt said we’d be seeing Android 4.0 aka, Ice Cream Sandwich.
Now the bad news, we’ve all grown fond of the name, Nexus Prime, but according to this tipster, the device name may actually change to the Galaxy Nexus. While that doesn’t sound nearly as cool, it does make sense since Samsung is making it. But we can always hope that the Prime name sticks.
