The ‘beta’ ROM of ICS (based off of 4.0.3) for the Galaxy S II is available and, according to SamMobile, you can download it here. Below is the video of the ROM in use, and sadly I can’t tell much of a difference between TouchWiz 4.0 and the new ICS build of TouchWiz. Maybe that’s just my high expectations knowing its the ‘Future of Android’ or because I use the Galaxy Nexus.
This build is dated January 29th, 2012. So, its fairly new. There are numerous improvements with this ROM comparing it to the other leaked ROMs on the web. The most noticeable improvement is longer battery life.
SamMobile compared this new build to the previous build I9100XXLP6 (LP6) and this is what they found:
Changes we found so far…
Interface: Kind of 3D effect when scrolling.
Battery: Lots better than early ones.
Faster: Feels the same as LP6
Touch: Same as LP6.
Overall: Better score in our eyes than LP6 .
Facelock: Same as LP6 working fine.
Task: Same as version LP6.
Samsung plans for the official release of ICS for the Galaxy SII sometime in march. Are you excited?
