Come September 12, we all know Apple’s iPhone is set to be the talk of industry, but that’s not all that Apple will show off at the event. We’ve been hearing rumors of a redesign for both the iPod Touch and iPod Nano for quite some time. With the past iPod Touches resembling their iPhone cousin, it was to be expected that the new iPod Touch redesign would include many of the same features found on the brand new iPhone 5, including the new 4-inch display, but with no cellular components, the Touch could be much thinner. The image above is a rumored case design for the new iPod Touch from the company Puro, it clearly shows a stretched design giving credit to a 4-inch display and while it’s also thin, perhaps the biggermystery is the second opening on the back. The first hole or “top” hole is obviously for the camera and LED flash. So the fact that there is a second hole has us very curious as to what Apple may show off.
As for the iPod Nano, Apple is going back to a larger version, meaning no more wearable iPod watches. The new iPod Nano has gotten taller as well and it too has a small opening on the back of the case, which could be use for a speaker or microphone, we’re not entirely sure. But from the looks of the case, the design could look something like the image below (scroll down, below the cases). It’s been long rumored that one of the main reason for making the Nano larger was to incorporate a wi-fi radio, this way it could connect to iTunes Match and quite possibly, the new iTunes streaming music service. Check the pictures out, do you think they are the real deal or are they wishful thinking?
The image below is a fan rendering and not the actual iPod Nano, but it certainly does look as though this concept could fit into one of the cases above. What do you all think?
