If you have an iPhone/iPad that’s running 5.1 or 5.1.1 with an A5 or A5X and you’ve been dying for an update on the jailbreaking process, good news, pod2g, the man who helped bring the 5.0 jailbreak to your devices is at it again. While pod2g released a video showing the 5.1.1 jailbreak fully functioning on a new iPad, the man behind the jailbreak says that there are currently 16 different devices that need to be tested and it takes time, but that he believe the jailbreak should be ready in just a few weeks.
Sadly, he also said that it looks like the iPod Touch (3rd Gen), iPhone 3GS and Apple TV 3, will not be compatible, but there’s still some time, so that it could change in future, just don’t hold your breath.
If you’d like to be a beta tester for the new jailbreak, that’s not going to happen either, pod2g says he only trusts a few people with the jailbreak, as it prevents leaks. Even if you offered him a million dollars, he says it’s not going to happen.
Either way, a few weeks isn’t too bad, of course with iOS 6 right around the corner, it may come a little late.
