When HTC said they were not abandoning Beat Audio, they meant it. The Taiwanese company is looking to incorporate the audio technology into their upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices. As you can see from the screen shot above, courtesy of The Verge, HTC is building the audio controls directly into the handsets OS.
Until now, HTC has only equipped their Android phones with Beats Audio, but now that Microsoft is preparing to release the massively overhauled Windows Phone 8 in late October, HTC—who has pledged support—is looking to add Beat to as little as three different handsets to start, the Accord, which should be released first, followed by the Rio and Zenith.
With HTC, Samsung, and Nokia all back on board, bringing devices with high-resolution displays, gorgeous designs and specs to match the iPhone and high-end Android devices, Windows Phone may be ready for prime time.
