Amazon’s Kindle Fire just become relavent again, at least when it comes to watching movies and TV. Sure they already had Netflix and Amazon Prime, but now the 7-inch budget tablet has access to HBO’s GO app. With HBO GO, Kindle Fire owners can now watch virtually every episode, of every season, of every show on that’s been on HBO. On top of that, there are specials, like stand up comedians, documentaries and more. Of course, there are movies you can watch too, which are basically HBO’s “movies of the month selection.
In order to take advantage of the the HBO GO app, you’ll need to have an HBO subscription with a cable/satelitte TV provider (and one that’s participating). Other than that, the app is free and you can watch as much as you want.
This is already an outstanding app on the iPhone, iPad and Android 2.3 and 4.0 devices (just not Android tablets running Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich), it’s just one more check in the “plus” column for Amazon’s first tablet entry and another reason to buy “it” over some of the other competitors out there.
