If you’re like us, you’ve probably been wondering why HBO hasn’t released a version of their popular mobile app, HBO GO, for Android tablets. Until recently, the app has only been available on Android devices running 2.3, Gingerbread (as well as iOS), Honeycomb devices have so far been left out in the cold. We say recently, because HBO just updated the smartphone app to become compatible with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but for some odd reason, the app still won’t work on Android tablets.
Android Community reached out to an HBO representative, who said that Android tablet owners can expect a tablet version of the app sometime this Summer. The update will apparently work for “most” Android tablet, even the Kindle Fire from Amazon.
Finally, is all I can say. This is way overdue.
