Google’s Nexus 7 may have just been the opening act for the search giant, when it comes to its tablet effort. According to a new photo that was uploaded to Picasa (Google’s photo sharing website), a device with the name “Nexus 10″ has been listed as uploading an image. While the image it uploaded looks like crap (see image below), what’s pretty interesting is the listed resolution of the device, 2560×1920, which we can only assume will be within a 10-inch frame. If so, that comes out to almost 400ppi.
We heard rumbling late last year that Samsung was working on a new tablet—with an incredibly high resolution, beating that of the new iPad—that would be released in the early months of 2012, however, that hasn’t happened, so it is entirely possible that Samsung hooked up with El Goog and decided to shift it’s effort to creating a 10-inch Nexus tablet, seeing how they have been rumored to do so and were also passed over for the upcoming 4th gen Nexus smartphone, a device they’ve worked on twice.
So far, rumors don’t peg this tablet as showing up at Google’s Playground event on the 29th, but that doesn’t mean it can’t make a surprise appearance, as we do expect to see a new version of the Nexus 7, one with 32GB of storage and possible a 3G enabled model.
The fourth quarter is always so exciting when it comes to new technology.
