Well we all know today was the release day of the new iPad. Knowing only a few changes were made to the new iPad, Gizmodo decided to run a small experiment. Would non-tech savvy coworkers be able to tell the difference between the iPad 2 and the new iPad? The experiment was composed of giving average co-workers an iPad 2 but claiming it was the new iPad. You might be more shocked than I am with the results.

The video shows numerous people using the iPad 2 thinking it was the new iPad. A few people thought the ‘new iPad’ was thinner than the iPad 2. Others could see the increased screen solution and brightness in the ‘new iPad’ and others found it to be lighter than the iPad 2.

Honestly I think this is pretty interesting. If the average consumer can’t tell the difference, than was Apples new iPad a successful upgrade or just the ‘iPad S’? I’m not sure but they are still selling millions of new iPad’s to people around the world.

Watch the video here.

Are you planning on getting the new iPad or just settle for an iPad 2? What is your reaction to this experiment? Let us know in the comments below.
