Well here’s some interesting news for a Friday morning, infamous French designer, Philippe Starck spoke with a French site Le Figaro and said that he’s been working with Apple for a while now, on a product that is due to be released in about eight months. Starck goes on to say that this product is “revolutionary and that everything is opposite.”

French designer Philippe Starck announced today on France Info that it is working with the U.S. computer group Apple in a project “revolutionary” that would emerge in eight months. “Indeed, there is a big project together which will be out in eight months,” said the designer in the show “Everything and its opposite.” Invoking the “religious cult of secrecy” of the California firm, he declined further detail, except to talk about a project “quite revolutionary (…) if not very”.

There are a few things to note here, for starters, when Tim Cook announced the new iPad, at the end of the event, he said that Apple had some amazing and revolutionary products set for release later this year that will blow us away. Could this mysterious product be one of those Cook teased? Could Starck be designing something unique for use with the new iPhone, a new wireless charging method or perhaps something more artistically designed?

The flip side to this news is that Starck has only designed things like speakers and hotels and such things, not high-end consumer electronics, like computers, iPads and Phones, not to mention, would Jony Ive give up control of a product like an iPhone or Television to an outside designer? Most likely not, which leads us to believe that whatever Starck and Apple have been working on, will work in collaboration with either an existing or new Apple product.

Either way, it’s a bit of interesting news and it will no doubt make the next 8 months feel like an eternity.
