If you’ve been wondering about the fate of the game Infinity Blade: Dungeons, the latest in the Infinity Blade series from Chair Entertainment, a studio owned by Epic Games, and it’s release date, we finally have an answer for you. The game, which was originally shown off at the event for the new iPad back in March, has been quite elusive in recent months, with a only a few demo videos released since then and now. But last night I received a tip from a reliable source, that informs me that the game is complete. In fact, it’s been complete for some time and was originally supposed to be released over the summer (end of June – early July), as promised back in March, but Apple has requested that Epic delay the game until the release of iOS 6 and the new iPhone 5.
Obviously, Apple wants a “must have” app launching along with the new iPhone. This is not unheard of in the video game industry, typically game consoles always launch with a AAA title, like for example, when Microsoft used Halo: Combat Evolved. From what we’ve seen of the title, it’s a graphic powerhouse and with rumors suggesting that Apple will use a quad-core processor in the new iPhone, Apple clearly wants to show off its power.
Assuming rumors are accurate, keep an eye peeled for Infinity Blade: Dungeons at Apple’s September 12 iPhone event.
Thanks Mr. Pibb
