We reported a little while ago that LG was looking to bring their newest flagship device, the Optimus G, to the U.S., after its initial release in South Korea. Now it looks like we have a carrier too, AT&T appears to be the only carrier, so far, that will carry the Optimus G when it makes its way to U.S. shores this November.
If you haven’t heard of the Optimus G, it’s a beast of a phone with a 4.7-inch IPS, 720p display, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel camera. Sadly, it will only launch with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, which lets us down, as we’d love to see this thing running Jelly Bean with those specs, it would be the epitome of “project butter.”
Aside from AT&T coming forward and announcing that they’ll sell the Optimus G, that’s all the information we have, no price or specific release date, other than November. If your contract is up and you’re looking for a new Android phone that looks like last years Galaxy S II Sky Rocket and is made from the same type of materials, you may want to look at the LG Optimus G.
Here’s the official press release:

That means AT&T customers are able to enjoy a widespread, ultra-fast and consistent 4G experience on their compatible device as they move in and out of LTE areas. With smartphones on other carriers’ networks, when you travel outside of their LTE coverage area, you may be on a much slower 3G network.*AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc.
