As rumors circulated at the end of September, many of us were left expecting Apple to send out invites, on the 10th of October, to the rumored iPad Mini event. This week however, the 10th came and went with no hint of an invite, as did the following two days. It would seem as if this mystical unicorn that is the iPad Mini, would remain a mystery a little longer.
That is until this morning, AllThingsD reports that Apple’s actual event for the iPad Mini, is now pegged for the 23rd of October, not the previously rumored 17th. According to their sources, who are close to the situation, Apple plans to unveil their new tablet a little later in the month than previously thought and it will be done in front of a smaller audience, compared to the iPhone 5, presumably within Apple’s headquarters at their Town Hall Auditorium.
If all this is the case, that explains why there were no invites this week. As with most Apple events, invitations are typically sent out a week in advance, meaning we should see invites go out next week.
