Apple’s iPad continues to be the most sought after tablet on the market, Kindle Fire demand declines

Apple’s iPad, the device that changed the tablet market, after three iterations, is still the tablet of choice according to a new market study performed by ChangeWave. The research firmed grilled a total of 2,893 people, asking them which tablet they would purchase and an overwhelming 73% said they’d choose Apple’s iPad. Coming in at a distant second, was Amazon’s Kindle Fire, ChangeWave was quick to point out that since it’s initial “pop” of popularity during the holidays, the Kindle Fire’s demand has extinguished, possibly by the new iPad. After the Kindle Fire, Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet line saw interest from only 6%, the remaining percentages were split up between different companies, none of which climbed above 3%.

It’s interesting to note, that despite the iPad only being a modest upgrade (with the exception of it’s display), the majority of consumers don’t care about specs and the raw power that comes with a Tegra 3, it appears that they just want something that is easy to use, looks nice and just works.
