What can I say, DigiTimes is on fire (with rumors) this month. The Taiwanese tech blog has now reported that Apple will not only introduce a new iPad in January, for a rumored February release, but will actually introduce “two” new iPads. DigiTimes says to expect a new “High-End” iPad with an 8-megapixel camera (presumably the same one found in the iPhone 4S), it’s newly developed quad-core A6 processor, it’s Retina Display and whopping 14,000mAh battery for unprecedented battery life. Before some of you freak out, I firmly believe that this new iPad “HD” will be the top line product, meaning it will remain at the same starting point of “$499.99.” The other iPad will sort of compliment the top-of-the-line iPad much like the iPhone 4 does with the 4S. This new mid-range iPad will be lower in price (to better compete with the Kindle Fire and other cheaper Android tablets) and will come with the same 5-megapixel camera found in the iPhone 4.

So what of the iPad 2? Perhaps an even lower model, one that can beat the sub $199 price tag and really hurt the Kindle. While none of this is concrete, especially with DigiTimes last comment, that all of this will be shown off at iWorld (formerly MacWorld). A few years ago Apple pulled out of the event, since it wasn’t put on by them and have instead put on their own events. Either way, if we are expecting any new iPad, it will most likely be shown off in January for a February release, be it at iWorld (if DigiTimes is right) or at Apple’s typical end of January event.

Keep your fingers cross Apple fans, this could be another year of the iPad.
