We reported back on April 17th, that Judge Lucy Koh ordered Samsung and Apple to sit down with a mediator to talk out their patent disputes. Judge Koh gave both companies 90 days to comply, but it didn’t take that long, a date(s) has been set, May 21st and 22nd. The mediation process will take place in San Francisco, not San Jose where the trial has been taking place. Presiding over the confidential meeting, will be Magistrate Judge Joseph J. Spero.
Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Choi Gee-sung have both agreed to meet and will come prepared with written statements on how they’ll handle things, if an agreement cannot be reached and the trial must continue.
Hopefully these talks are successful, I for one can’t wait for these disputes to be over, I’m getting tired of having to cover them.
