Amazon holding press event on September 6th, presumably to announce new Kindle Fire

We’ve known for a while that Amazon has been working on a follow-up to its successful Kindle Fire, as we edge closer to the first Kindle Fire’s anniversary, it would seem like the appropriate time to announce a successor. Well, it’s seems that is just what Amazon has planned, or so we think. Amazon has started sending out invitations for an event set to take place on September 6th in Santa Monica at the Barker Hangar, I guess they are expecting a crowd.

While it’s not a given, it only seems logical that we’ll likely see a re-fresh on most of the Kindle line. The timing of the event seems rather aggressive too, considering Apple is rumored to take the stage in San Francisco six days later to announced the highly anticipated new iPhone and supposedly, the equally as anticipated iPad Mini, a direct competitor to the Amazon Kindle Fire.

We don’t have much longer to wait, as September 6th is only a few weeks away, so stay tuned.
