Amazon is diffidently firing on all cylinders and doing their best to be the next Apple. The online retail giant has just released their first mobile game/app, Air Patriots. The game, developed in house by Amazon Game Studios, is a top down strategy (tower defense) game that forces players to draw on the screen in a whatever pattern they want, after which, a plane will fly over and follow that exact path and attack whatever is below.

Overall, the game is simple, but marks a big step forward for Amazon, as until now, the company has only released apps like their Kindle Reader, and Cloud drive. Now they finally have their own game to peddle on their own AppStore. The trailer for the game is below and eager gamers can download the game for iOS, Android and of course, the Kindle Fire line. The game is free to play and comes with three maps and 12 levels, if players want more, there are additional levels, but you’ll have to pony up $2.99.
