At Amazon’s press event today, prior to the announcement of their Kindle Fire HD, the company’s new flagship Kindle, they announced that the first Kindle Fire was a massive success and help Amazon garner 22% of the tablet market in its first year.
So rather then kill it off, they decided to retool it and beef it up with a brand new processor, twice the RAM, which help make it 40% faster then previous model. The battery life has also been improved.
The best part is that the price has dropped by $40 dollars, folks interested in a faster Kindle Fire can now scoop one up for only $159 starting on September 14th, pre-orders for the new device begin today.
