According to the “know-it-all” voice recognition software in the iPhone 4S, Siri, when asked, “what’s the best smartphone,” the service pings WolframAlpha for an answer. Unfortunately for Apple, WolframAlpha currently lists the Lumia 900 by Nokia as the “Best.”
So how is this possible? Well, it’s really just due to the fact that WolframAlpha is basing this information off of only four user reviews submitted to the site and of those four, each one ranked the phone a perfect score of 5 out of 5. So really, the Lumia 900 is the best smartphone according to those four people. What’s even more interesting is that the iPhone isn’t even listed in the top ten.
While the best smartphone is still based off pure user opinion, the fact that a competitor’s product shows up when using an Apple service can’t make the folks in Cupertino very happy. it will be interested to see, now that this story is making headlines, will more reviews be submitted to WolframAlpha and will it change the overall best smartphone?
